CSE 1-2-3: What are careers in economics? 3 takeaways from NABE

In this blog post, Julie Miller, Director, Career Strategies, shares her highlights from December’s National Association of Business Economists Information Session for students interested in careers in economics.

Brandeis has a strong economics department, offering undergraduate and graduate degrees with an economics focus. But what’s the job market for economics degrees?

NABE to the rescue! On December 4, 2024, Brandeis International Business School hosted two guests from the National Association for Business Economics (nabe.com) to discuss economics careers, NABE membership, and the Certified Business Economist (CBE) certification in applied economics and data analytics. Economics Professor Judy Dean and Marcia Katz from the CSE welcomed speakers Tara Munroe, NABE’s Director of Education and Professional Development, and Daniel Brown, CBE, Senior Director, Economist with American Bankers Association. Tara and Dan came to the Brandeis campus from the Washington DC-Baltimore area.

Here are the NABE CBE Brandeis Presentation | Slides from NABE’s visit to campus, and here are three takeaways from the NABE presentation:
