Education: Riya Mandhana (She/Her/Hers) is currently a Master of Science in Finance student at Brandeis International Business School, and is expected to graduate in May 2022. She graduated with her Bachelor in Legal Science from Government Law College, Mumbai University in India. She also obtained an Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Examination Certificate from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Work History: Riya is a Junior Career Captain at the Business School’s Career Strategies and Engagement Center. Prior to her position at Brandeis, she worked as a trainee in the field of Audit and Taxation for 3.5 years, as part of her Chartered Accountancy coursework, where she performed Statutory and Tax Audits and provided Direct Taxation and Transfer Pricing Consultancy. She then transitioned to working as a Senior Tax Consultant, focusing on Transfer Pricing and International Taxation. Last year, Riya started an organization called What’s Next For You, through which she aimed to create awareness about different career paths and guide school students about different career options available to them. Riya also worked as a Management Consultant at 180 Degrees Consulting in India on a pro-bono project.
Extracurriculars & Hobbies: Aside from her involvement at the Career Strategies and Engagement Center, Riya serves as President of International Business Women’s Club at Brandeis and Vice President of Brandeis Consulting Association. Riya is a sports fanatic. She played Badminton professionally throughout her school life and continues to enjoy the game. She also relishes being at one with nature and loves hiking, kayaking and camping.
