Location: Mostly virtual, with the possibility of in-person meetings (the company is based in Somerville, MA, at Greentown Labs)

Position Overview: ACT is seeking a motivated Marketing Intern to join our team and assist with promoting the Powering Tomorrow Campaign, with a core focus on marketing the Misinformation Tracker. The campaign is designed to empower communities to detect, counter, and prevent the spread of climate misinformation. By putting real-time information and tools in the hands of local advocates, we hope to foster a shift toward a sustainable, climate-positive future.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct market analysis of similar misinformation tools and initiatives to understand market trends, effective strategies, and the competitive landscape.
- Research target audience to identify and define the primary audiences for the tracker, crafting user profiles that will guide messaging and outreach.
- Develop a comprehensive marketing plan to create a strategic campaign using digital advertising, social media, and PR to build awareness and encourage tracker adoption.
- Assist in developing and implementing ACT’s communications strategy across various channels, including website, social media, email newsletters, and press releases.
- Monitor and analyze social media metrics and website analytics to measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts and identify areas for improvement.
- Support the planning and execution of ACT events and webinars related to the campaign, including promotional activities and attendee outreach.
- Assist with media relations activities, including drafting press releases, pitches, and lists.
- Collaborate with ACT team members on special projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google and familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and Bluesky).
- Experience with content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
