Evercore’s unique market position provides Associates the ability to work closely with senior partners on industry-transforming, multi-billion dollar transactions in markets around the world. As part of the Program, Summer Associates will work on a variety of assignments including: in and out of court restructurings, recapitalizations, strategic divestitures, capital raising, and chapter 11 bankruptcies. As part of the team assigned to these projects, individuals will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: preparing for and attending client meetings, financial modeling, resolving complex accounting issues, financial statement and credit document analysis, valuation analysis, industry analysis, due diligence and new business development. The small deal team structure allows Associates to have a strong platform to learn all aspects of restructuring and debt advisory and assume high levels of responsibility at early stages of their careers. Associates will have a high level of interaction with all parties involved in a transaction and will manage those relationships across the various law firms, consultants, accounting firms, creditors and other investment banks that the group works with consistently.
Candidates must have a strong interest in investment banking with solid quantitative and analytical skills, as well the ability to think broadly about a range of strategic issues confronting the firm’s clients. Knowledge of accounting, valuation, finance, and business strategy is necessary.
Responsibilities for an Associate include managing analysts, overseeing financial and valuation analysis, resolving complex financial and accounting issues, industry and competitive analysis, due diligence, drafting client presentations, management and execution of live deal situations, and assistance with new business development. We are looking for candidates with sound judgement, intellectual curiosity that has excellent presentation skills.
Candidates should have:
- Be a current First Year MBA student from a top business school
- Several years of relevant work experience
- Strong grasp of corporate finance, valuation, and financial accounting
- Superior analytical skills and demonstrated excellence in academic coursework
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to articulate ideas
- Outstanding communications skills, both written and oral

Scholarship recipients will be selected from among the eligible applicants who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership qualities and who also have demonstrated contributions to diversity initiatives or to diversity and inclusion more generally, such as in the area(s) of racial or ethnic diversity, sexual orientation or gender identity, disability, and/or veteran status.
