Want Direct Access to Top Employers? Attend the 2022 ALPFA Convention!

ALPFA logoAssociation of Latin Professionals for America (ALPFA) is one of the longest standing and most popular affinity clubs at the Brandeis International Business School.

Why should you join ALPFA? For one thing, although it is a Latin affinity club, it is very open to and abrazos all college and university students interested in pursuing careers and employment in the Business World, whether or not they are Latinx.

For another thing, ALPFA holds several networking events during the year which are open to Club members and other students with interest. These events vary from meeting employers and like-minded business students to providing professional resume review and mentoring. Events are held locally and nationally.

Locally, these include networking events with professional speakers at downtown companies such as Fidelity and Liberty Mutual. They also hold a yearly Career Fair at a different area college or university. Although the pandemic has cut into the number of events ALPFA has been able to hold in the last few years, it is beginning to hold more in-person events.

The most noteworthy of these in-person events is a national event, the annual ALPFA Convention. Brandeis has helped to send students to this event for many years.

After the past two years during the pandemic, we are again planning to help our interested students attend the 2022 ALPFA Convention in Orlando, FL, August 7-11. The CSE will cover the entire registration fee ($240 for the Basic Student Member, $180 for Paid Student Member) for this event. Additionally, you will be able to access your $500 CSE Reimbursement Fund and apply it towards your flight and hotel costs.

Why should you attend the 2022 ALPFA Convention? In addition to the company sessions and dinners to which attendees receive invitations by meeting company representatives, there is a Career Fair with a broad variety of known companies represented. This is an opportunity to access companies directly that you likely would not otherwise meet. CSE staff members will accompany you to Orlando and will be there for networking advice and for meeting employers and finding opportunities. Fill out this form so we know you are attending.

The recent ALPFA newsletter, La Cuenta, is filled with additional information and activities at the 2022 Convention. Among these are:

  • STUDENT WORKSHOP BOOTCAMPS – Student Bootcamp will take place from July 25-29, where partners will host several workshops to help you get the best out of the career fair and convention.
  • ALPFA’S GOT TALENT – Show us what you’ve got at convention! We know that our ALPFAmilia is full of talented people and we invite you to share your talent. The winner will receive a prize pack valued at $500+.

The convention, these events and more can be attended via registration. You can find the registration link here and in your weekly CSE newsletter.
